How to get engaged


The Food bank Bangladesh network conducted a survey with the association of Gift for Good and i’social on March 25, sampling over 57 households of a slum in AgargaonTaltola to measure the initial impact of Covid-19 over the slum dwellers.

Survey findings show that the Average household size is 3.98; Average earning member 1.3; Average weekly income of the households BDT 4,163; Average household expenditure BDT 3055. 26% of the respondents in the slum are day labourer, 21% rickshaw puller, 10% skilled worker, 9% domestic helper and so on.

From a multiple response question, the survey found that most of the households are affected due to the COVID 19 situation. 91% are facing temporary work loss, 89% have decreased income, 65% are facing business shut down, 75% are in a food crisis and so on.

Voluntary organizations are working during Covid-19 crisis

Based on this survey and the analysis we made, we are working to reach out the slum dwellers in Dhaka city and provide them with daily goods and commodities in this emergency situation.
